Mostly the seats are so arranged as to e in the same compartment/bay. Sometimes they get scattered across the same coach. very rarely they go across coaches

i travelled in 2650 dn train on 7th mar from NZM to YPR. It stopped at Kazipet for 1/2 an hour at around 3:30 in the morning for loco change. even for up train this is the point of loco change. it also stops at Dhone and Balharshah for crew change.

Wainganga,Kongu etc anyway depart from Bangalore only. Even Raj has a stop at Kazipet.
If sampark kranthi is found convinient then get down at Kachiguda,take a bus/local to secunderabad and take East coast from there which leaves at around 10:00 AM.

i travelled on feb 12th in ksk 2 tier ac and it did not have charging points although coaches was neat.plug points was on the side berths i had to request them for the same.it all depends up on ur luck on the day of travel pls dont believe ksk to be on time it always reaches late food is not great it is just edible and u are forced since u have no other alternative . i would suggest u to buy breakfast at kacheguda in morning it stops for 10 mins and buy snacks at nagpur halts for 10 mins and if train is on right time u would get dinner in bhopal.gud luck for the journey

For AC 3tier they provide bed rolls / blankets and no extra cost as the charges are already included in the Fare. For sleeper class, you need to request for bed roll and pay extra charge.

In Tatkal booking, there are many more seats (for YPR to NZM) in sleeper class (151 seats) than in 3AC (28 seats) . Better you ask immediately for sleeper class as soon as you hear "no tickets" in 3AC at the counter booking.

The chances are 50:50. There may not be enough cancellations to push your ticket towards confirmation. Many Govt officers, corporate officers, media persons booking might have happended in view of post budget Govt works, meetings, seminars, conferences etc. (Not all travel by air).
You need to try immediately in Tatkal on 24.2.2010 opening @ 8.00 am to be on safer side.

2ac coachers are same as other mail/express trains. they are normally good. Food is not great, as this train has very few stops you have no choice of buying food from outside also. speed wise it is one of the best.

There is no method by which you can see available berths before booking.
As earlier stated while booking online there are some options available on booking page
1) Book My Ticket only if at least one lower berth is alloted
2) Book My Ticket only if at least two lower berths are alloted
3) Book MY ticket only if all the passengers are alloted berth in same coach
You may check any of the option before booking
Now you cant change the berths only method is to request the co passengers to change the berth.

Furthur to add to that, the same ticket be postponed for different date if you am unable to secure seats in the middle of the coach only if it booked at a reservation counter. This can be done only once. If it is an e-ticket, the date cannot be changed.

Presently there is no such facility by which you can see the seat layout before booking tickets online. However, there is option for allotment of lower berths while booking online if you select the required options. Else, you can go to a reservation counter and book the tickets so that you can know the seats that you are being allotted before booking and make changes as required with the help of the reservation clerk.

Prag was informing other bloggers that his ticket did not get confirmed and was stating the fact that WL stopped at No.17 for confirmation and rest were not confirmed. its not chatting with himself. yes, there is a delay in informing abt the position, but still he has done it.

I am sorry you can't print the ticket. What you could do is to have it couriered to you depending upon your time schedule, or, have it faxed to you in SBC. Then approach the PRS Supervisor at SBC and provide identification and try and get it re-issued. They would guide you further after checking since everyone knows situation in AP. If you booked E-ticket through your account in irctc, you can re-print your tickets any number of times. log in to your account and look for cancel/re-print tickets. you have to provide password one more time when it asks and choose pnr number, re-print tickets and you get it. its simple.
if in case you have booked through res counter, you have to contact the local counter, and ask for a duplicate ticket - you have to pay the charges. pl contact the nearest res counter if its a I-ticket.

You can take your pet dog along with you in AC First Class or First Class, provided you reserve either a two berth or a four berth compartment exclusively for your use, paying the luggage scale rate for 60 kg.
Passengers travelling in other classes are not permitted to carry the dog along with them. The dog can be booked and carried in the Luggage/Brake Van paying the luggage scale rate for 30 kg. Specially designed Dog Boxes are available in the Brake Van for this purpose.
The minimum luggage scale rate is Rs. 30/- per dog.

In first AC, the berths / coupes are allotted only while charting and not while booking. In normal chances, if booking is for 2, efforts are made to issue a coupe of 2; yet it is by chance and also depends upon the chart preparing official.

Although you have not given journey date, following is the normal procedure for allocation in 1AC. As far as possible they accommodate two passengers travelling together in a coupe. But since coupes are limited, it depends. Further if there is a VIP travelling with an additional companion, the VIP gets preference. But most likely, you will get a coupe (two berth). 1AC travel price is nearly equivalent to air ticket hence this confusion some times...generally two booked together get a coupe. They try to accommodate couples in coupes. This is done manually I think. That is why 1AC bookings never give coupe/berth details, except saying 'confirmed'. Other senior bloggers may please advise if I am correct.

Difficult to say. Oftentimes, in the last couple of days before journey, waitlist moves significantly due to quota seats being brought into the General category.

The bed sheets and pillow cover are freshly washed. I am not sure about the blanket.

The beddings are very well maintained but i don't know how & where these beddings are washed.

However good it is washed, if you are that particular about neatness, it is good if you carry your own fleece blankets, which are very light. Indian Railways cannot be held responsible if your health fails due to usage of sub-standard clothing/ protection gear :)

both AP Express and karnataka sampark usually arrive somewhat late. however karnataka Sampark Kranti is a faster train.

Travel by AP Exp. Service is better. Sampark Kranti is faster, but stops at many places unofficially.

to answer your first question,
1) there are no direct trains from Mysore to saharanpur..
i would suggest you travel to bangalore via rd. from mysore. preferably by car to accomodate ur pet dog.
i) take Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express/2649 1A coach to reach H nizamuddin.
ii) take Golden Temple Mail/2903 1A coach to reach saharanpur or take the road transport.
2)I think you can provided you take some precautionary measures, also, u can talk to the railways enquiry at yesvanthpur station.

Suggest u have a pet carrier, and puppy pee pads , and some treats, hopefully the dog will not get motion sickness. You should talk to your vet and see if he can give you something to keep the dog from getting sick.Carry poop bags with you so that you can seal any poop up so that it doesn't stink the whole carriage out. Your co-passengers would be happy atleast.

kacheguda and hyderabad are different stations. not sure how far they are by road but will be under 10 km for sure

kachiguda is part and parcel of hyderabad. it is in the heart of the hyderabad city. in hyderabad there are 3 rail way stations. hyderabad,kachiguda,secunderabad.

You can click on this link that shows all the stations within Hyderabad city... /station/map/844 The straight line distance between Hyderabad Deccan and Kacheguda is only 4 km. You can expect around 6 km by road.

It is just around 2-3 kms

From Yesvantpur, the best way is train , u can take express train to reach in 2.20 hours time , if u can take volvo buses from blore to mysore anytime , their frequency is good

From Bangalore main station, you can take either Tipu express-daily-2:20PM or Shatabdi which takes only 1 hr 20 min. Else take Volvo busses from mejestic bus stand. All other express trains nearly take 3 15 min to reach Mysore. Only above mentioned trains takes less time.

From Yeswantpur, catch an autorickshaw, and go to Mysore Road mofussil bus depot from where most buses to Mysore start. It takes around 3 hours to reach Mysore. This is the best way. Else, you can go by train, if there is one when you are able to reach Bangalore City. Autos may charge around Rs. 120. Buses may cost around 77. Volvos will cost around 220. Check the KSRTC site ksrtc.in/# Karnataka has the best buses and best online bus reservation in India. Go for it. :)

Falukunama is another train which is very very bad with general compartments being overcrowded beyond its capacity fully occupying even toilets.SCR IS A COMMERCIAL ZONAL RAILWAY AND NOT FOR THE CAUSE OF PASSENGERS.SCR MOTTO IS EARNING HIGHEST REVENUE IN INDIAN RAILWAYS.

Another Super Fast train to Delhi with more number of stops, and faster time is a requirement. Also, number of toilets can be reduced from 4 to 2, so more people can travel. General compartments should be double-deckers. Another alternative is to introduce a passenger train from Delhi to Bangalore, if people cannot afford Tatkal, or normal fares. :)

depends on RAC number. If you have a low number like 4 or 5, then RAC is confirmed a few days before departure. If it is slightly higher, like 10 - 15, then it is confirmed at time of chart preparation. If it is even higher, like 20, then many times, it is not confirmed even at the time of chart preparation. Then, TC will confirm your berth (if available) inside the train after departure. good luck.

It travels at normal express train speed, but stops at very few stations. That's why overall travel time is shorter on sampark kranti trains.

This is because the journey from Hyd till blr it's a single line and while coming back the train has to travel this distance during the day time when the traffic is more.

I find that most of the Sampark Kranti trains are very efficient and fast, since they have very few stoppages. It is a very innovative service.

Bull shut. Its not an innovative service. Half of the train contains high capacity cargo. Its ment for Cargo, taking few pasengers. Since it doesnt have schedule except 2 or 3 halts. It doesnt use Slots. Simply runs as Cargo train.
