At 3352 to 3658 meters above sea level, the gentle landscape of the Valley of Flowers National Park complements the rugged mountain wilderness of Nanda Devi National Park to the east. Together, they encompass a unique transition zone between the mountain ranges of the Zanskar and Great Himalaya. The park stretches over an expanse of 87.50 km² and it is about 8 km long and 2 km wide. Both parks are encompassed in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve (223,674 ha) which is further surrounded by a buffer zone (5,148.57 km²). This Reserve is in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves since 2004.
Location
State: Uttarakhand, India
District: Chamoli
Nearest town: Joshimath
The Valley of Flowers is nestled in the upper expanses of Bhyundar Ganga near Joshimath in Gharwal region. The lower reaches of Bhyundar Ganga near Gobindghat are known as Bhyundar Valley. Grievance Description : The General Manager, Central Railways, Mumbai Division. Sir, I regret to bring to your notice the poor plight of the passengers on board 22109 LTT NZM AC Express departing LTT today viz. 16.12.2014. For one the rake is not at all cleaned and maintained by LTT. The rake is stinking and is fully dirty from outside. I am given to understand is the lesser time available for maintenance because of its Rake Sharing with 02111/12 LTT Lucknow AC special that arrived LTT at around 04:00 hours this morning. I am at a loss to know why is CR intent upon destroying its one of the finest trains of its fleet by giving impractical RSAs and running it late? Earlier you had run this train to depart on Fridays from LTT and arriving back to LTT on Sundays which was the best and 22109 was able to depart on time on almost all runs with a properly cleaned and well maintained rake. Besides, it is also clear that CR is not interested to run this train anymore and it is being treated as a scrap despite its 100% patronage in both directions. This because of improper loco allotments and also your failure to take up this issue with Railway Board for either increase in frequency or upgrading it to Rajdhani or to accord fast sanction of 130 MPS to this train so that this train maintains its aggressive Time Table in both directions. The WORST part is when complaints are made for punctuality of this train, you just shift the blame on others saying that it runs minimal delay in CR and delayed in other zones as if you are not interested. It becomes your duty, your responsibility to get the satisfactory replies rather than shaking them off. Then why was so much hype created by you that a Rajdhani like SuperFast service with Rajdhani like speed and comfort will be introduced by CR. Please learn from WR, ER as to how they maintain rapport with enroute controlling stations to ensure that their top A category trains reach their destination on time. One more request is to please maintain the uniform Rajdhani livery of this train. Half of its coaches are presently running with 12223/24 LTT ERS Duronto which I am sure can be easily swapped. I rest my case with the hope that I will get a proper reply from your side and hope that we passengers can expect a clean rake n Rajdhani like comfort in the near future. Thanks and Regard, Yours Truly S V Iyer
Current Status : CASE CLOSED
Date of Action : 21 Jan 2015
Details : Concerned staff has been instructed to keep external as well as internal parts of the trains properly, so that complaints can be avoided. Further, efforts are being made to swap the coaches of different colour scheme for running in Train No. 22109 and 12223, but it is not possible to maintain sanctity of rakes due to non-availability of adequate spare coaches and operational constraints. All efforts are being taken for running trains punctually. Application has been submitted to CRS clearance in North East Circle, for train no. 22109/22110 efforts are being made to get CRS sanction. As and when the approval will get, sanction will be communicated to the concerned authorities.
