This exact idea was initiated multiple times long back since 2004-5. ICF tried various designs to accommodate both AC and non-AC classes in a trainset. None could be made feasible. Propulsion and power difference in respective motor coach types make it technological unviable. Drag difference between the two creates very high imbalance to sustain higher speeds in multiple locomotion format when using AC trailer coach. After consulting with various OEMs, ICF dropped the plan of manufacturing mixed type MEMUs.
