before deciding on funding. The state government has already prepared detailed project reports (DPRs) for both projects, with an estimated cost of Rs 10,740 crore for Coimbatore and Rs 11,368 crore for Madurai. The central government has not yet responded to the state's request for 50:50 funding for the second phase of the Chennai Metro project, which is being financed by the state itself. The AIIB representatives will conduct an on-site inspection of the proposed routes and meet with the government's finance department secretary on Friday to make a final decision on funding. State government ne dono projects ke liye DPRs taiyaar kiye hain, Coimbatore ke liye Rs 10,740 crore aur Madurai ke liye Rs 11,368 crore ka budget hai. Chennai Metro project ke second phase ke liye state ne 50:50 funding ka request kiya tha, lekin central government se koi jawab nahin aaya, isliye state khud funding kar raha hai. AIIB representatives Friday ko government ke finance department secretary se milenge, funding ka final decision lene ke liye. Iske saath hi DMK Rajya Sabha MPs P Wilson aur Kanimozhi NVN Somu ne Chennai Metro Rail Phase-II project ke liye funds allocate na karne pe union government ko criticize kiya hai, pichle saal PM ne project ke liye Rs 63,000 crore allocate karne ka announcement kiya tha.
