It's funny to me why people keep pushing the idea of speed wrt to Vande Bharat or compare it with other trains on the similar route (for instance, MAS-MYS VB was promptly being compared with MAS-MYS Shatabdi, with people claiming that there's not much of a time difference. My question is.. what do you expect? That the train would reach in a mere few hours when the track itself is not upgraded for any train).
Vande Bharat is primarily introduced to provide better passenger comfort on routes where there's appropriate demand (in...
more... an ideal case). In the future, they're bound to replace the conventional Shatabdi(s) on almost all routes along with new introductions. Speed can be adjusted accordingly as much as the track allows.
