I support this decision. Infact this train which was numbered 387/88 got introduced as an alternative train when Mangalore Nizamuddin Mangala Exp was made an independent train. Prior to 1992, Mangala ran as a slip train to Kerala exp with bifurcation and amalgamation at Palghat. I personally think it was a mistake on the railways part to introduce this train as a fast passenger. It should have been an express train with the existing stops of the erstwhile Link Mangala Exp.
