The reality! Why would people use a train taking such a long route? Even general passengers wouldn't.

The present route of diverted Basava the shortest route rather than via Wadi, must be empty as many on the diverted route may not know it.
Also do u know if they give tickets for a diverted train on a diverted station- like HPT to SBC on Basava ??

Shortest? HPT is about 392 by Hampi. 524 by this train. Bus 330. Why would people take this train? Maybe general people if is advertised like you say.

Sorry, I meant HPT route for Basava is shorter than Wadi route. Not shortest.
IRCTC shows after YPR directly Bagalkote, so that may be one reason for Reserved Classes not filling.
And I thought GEN class tickets wont be given on diverted route like HPT to SBC in Basava, correct me I may be wrong.

But compared to via Wadi route this diverted route was at least shorter for bagalkot Bijapur ppl but due to non information in public and no access for reservation for public in diverted route.
