According to flexi fare system, base fares will be increased by 10% after every 10% of tickets sold to a prescribed maximum limit. Maximum base fare can be 140% of initial base fare for 3A class and 150% for 2S, SL, 2A and CC class.
This flexi fare system does not applicable on 1A and EC classes of these trains.
2. For Tatkal booking, existing quota will not be changed but fare will be 1.5 times of base fare of 2S, SL, 3A, 2A and CC classes. There will not be any extra Tatkal charge. There will be no change in the existing fares of 1A and EC classes of these trains. Other supplementary charges like- Reservation charge, Catering charge, superfast charge, service tax etc. are not changed and will be there, same as applicable now. Premium Tatkal Scheme will not be there in these trains.
3. Berths which are vacant at the time of charting will be available as current booking and charged at the last price sold for that class and other supplementary charges.
4. While ticket booking if fare of one class becomes higher that upper class then this information will be displayed to the passenger to exercise option to travel by higher class.
5. There will be no Change in Refund Rules, Normal concession, other supplementary charges and Service tax.
6. These changes are applicable from 09.09.2016. Tickets already booked for journey commissioning after 09.09.2016 will not come under these revised fares and difference of fares will not be collected from passengers in train. These revised fares are applicable on both offline and online booking
