This is to bring to the attention of concerned officials that 'used' linen is provided to passengers on 12224 ERS-LTT AC Duronto Express ( as experienced by me on Jan 1st 2014). I had mentioned it in my review dated January 5 (Forum). I also got a reply stating the reasons for the same as the train arrives by 5 pm at ERS and leaves the same night at 21.30, there is no time for cleaning and providing fresh linen.
I understood the logistics. But, if the train is given fewer halts (other than the technical halts) for other trains to pass by, then it can reach ERS before 4.30. Moreover, the train can also carry fresh linen from Mumbai for...
more... the return journey from ERS, considering the fact that it does not get ample time for disposal of linen at ERS. If the problem is taken objectively, the linen issue can be sorted at ERS. But, the fact that used linen is given to passengers is in bad taste and unhygienic too.
I think the concerned railway officials should look into this and start providing fresh linen on this Duronto ( I do not know of other Duronto trains). These are wonderful passenger friendly trains and let not passengers be meted with bad service due to improper planning and redtapsim.
