Why is the expenditure more for VB is it due to high powered traction motors and power consumption?
Revenue of Rajdhani is it so that they are more number of travelers in Rajdhani then Shatabdi / VB this need better clarification and how revenue is calculated.

Operational Cost of VB mentioned here is way more, double of Shatabdi Express, which I think is little misdirected as Shatabdi uses Diesel in both EOGs even if it runs on HOG. VB also uses regenerative breaking system, automatic doors, better aerodynamics how can just because it is multiple unit train set it operating cost shot double than that of Shatabdi, whereas as far as Train Sets are considered they are supposed to be more energy efficient thus less costly in operation.

correct than even if VB is 100% occupied on daily basis then also it will always be a loss making because RKMP-NZM VB any day has more than 60% occupancy and 90-100% occupied on weekend, if that is generating low revenue then hardly it will generate 30-40% more even it runs pack daily.

Also I believe Rajdhani data presented here is end to end not Bhopal-Delhi-Bhopal as it doesn't have that much seat quota to get this much revenue.

So overall this news is not making sense to me, anyways this is printed in Newspaper of Bhopal who are infamous to print bogous fake and misleading Railway news.

Rajdhani has a quota of 75 berths and the income will be 4cr even if another 75 book in tatkal or board due to more deboarding then rhe quota the income will not cross 10cr. It may be revenue for total run. For premium trains they need to exclude catering charge for revenue calculation.

Comparison of the two decades old Satabdhi btw Ndls and Bhopal, Four decade old Bengaluru Rajdhani with one year old VB (NDLS - Bhopal I presume), and comparing economics is too premature. The operational cost of VB is double of Satabdhi, which is incorrect. Again, rajdhani express is more revenue generating as it's a long distance train. I doubt on the data representing operational cost of VB . Yes , VB 1.0 was tagged as less energy efficient and technology was immediately replaced in the version 2.0.
Train sets are considered more energy efficient and are becoming norm of the rail travel around the world.
Also , IR would have priced ticket according to the energy consumption of the train set .. but VB costs only 20% more than the Shatabdi !

I am not denying your facts, but I did not understand why you explicitly talked about patronage of RKMP-NZM VB when the main blog isn't related to it and saying words like Maturity?

Coming back to your point, yes ofcourse VB is not going to be the 1st choice of Passengers of Bhopal, as there are many options available the top choice being Shaan e Bhopal SF, also Bhopal doesn't see mass migration like cities of UP/Bihar to Delhi Mumbai so its obvious to not compare the trains from these regions. this VB is proven to be very useful for people travelling in this section for last minute travel and when tickets are not available.

Still it runs packed in every important occassion, last summer season it went full even on weekdays run as well, lets see how it performs this year's summer.

From past 4 months I have been doing weekly up down between Bhopal and Jabalpur due to office work. I have done numerous journeys in almost every suitable dedicated train between BPL and JBP, be it ADTL Intercity, Janshatabdi but mainly in 22191 INDB-JBP Overnight and 12192 JBP-NZM Shridham.

7th December 2023, I got the oppurtunity to travel the only Premium train of this section, newly introduced and extended 20174 REWA-RKMP Vande Bharat Express. With this I have covered all 3 VB of Madhya Pradesh.
That week almost all other trains between Jabalpur and Bhopal were either cancelled or diverted due to 3rd line work in Barkhera-Budni.

It was a bit rainy morning, when I reached station, the train was slightly late but likely to cover up due to slack and it did. There were so many passengers waiting for VB to arrive. VB arrived on time and it was almost 50% filled from previous station. decent number of passengers got down at JBP and then it got completely packed, I got a Window seat but bad-luck only 20% window was there along my seat.

Nevertheless I started recording video for my YT channel and noted down key points. Immidietly the water bottle was served and off we go.

Coming to catering, the breakfast was Ok, we got Upma, Thepla, Aloo Sabji, Curd, Tea and Muffin. Upma was tasteless but warm but Aloo Sabji and Thepla were lipsmacking, it was loaded from Satna. Lunch was served immediately after departing from Narmadapuram, its taste was also Okaish but as good as Breakfast.

Coming to its run, this train has ample amount of slack, we have reached Itarsi outer 10 minutes before and made entry on platform exactly on time. After that due to 3rd line work in ghat we made 3-4 unscheduled halt near Midghat but still it reached RKMP on time. This VB only picked 130 kmph after Barkhera.

In my opinion this train can get speedup of 30 minutes. There is no need of 10 minutes halt at ET it can be reduced to 5 when there is no Loco Change as of now Crew from JBP goes till RKMP and LPs has to go from 1 cab to other thats why its taking time but that can be changed as REWA-JBP and JBP-ET by JBP Crew and ET-RKMP by ET/BPL Crew, also JBP halt can be reduced to 5 minutes as well.

Overall it was a great journey, could've been much better if speed is more and if I would've got proper window seat. Cleaniness and Security in this train is excellent. REWA CDO is maintaining it good.

I have travelled in REWA-ITR too between JBP-ITR a couple of times in last 2 weeks, and I found it maintained pretty good as well. Cleaniness was not upto mark but I can consider that because it has already travelled between REWA-JBP but still it was OK.
In Rewanchal and ANVT SF, there is no maintenance done from REWA end other than just cleaning floors, maybe that's why you found them dirty.

Doesn't make sense to deploy 3rd set of crew for saving 5 mins of journey time for short distance. Already one set of LP run for only 3 hrs then handover to another set for 5hrs. It is waste of manpower.

WCR is already doing this with all trains having reversal at ET, with fresh loco they provide fresh LP set at ET.
This was exception as previously it was going till JBP only that's why end to end crew was working.

Its not only about saving 5 minutes but collectively reducing time.

I agree.
I talked to 1 of the Senior LP at RKMP, he was taking the road learning of RKMP-ET section as he never operated train here. I am talking about the time when this VB was plying till JBP only.
He also told me the same ki BPL Crew is already running RKMP-NZM VB that's why JBP div got hold on this one.
