It could have originated from Pratapgarh and followed the route Pratapgarh- Amethi - Raebareli- Lucknow- Kanpur- Jhansi- Bhopal-Itarsi-Nagpur- Hyderabad- Dharamwaram- Yashwantpur. This could have shortened the route by 280 km between Lucknow and Yashwantpur. With present route, it is the slowest train with longest route between Lucknow and Yashwantpur. Have you ever seen anything logical when it comes to politics? This circuitous route is only to bring Rae Bareli into the picture. Otherwise, the route that you had mentioned would have been chosen. @first blogger: Correct, There is no point in going from Allahabad, Pratapgarh / Varanasi was the correct starting point since Allahabad already has a daily train (Sanghamitra). Only One 3rd AC and 2nd AC ..........why?? @anon: Feb 09 (08:27PM) Even with the suggested route, Raebareli, Amethi and Pratapgarh would have been touched and Allahabad and beyond is already covered by Sanghamitra Exp. The new train could have been used to provide Superfast connectivity between 2 million plus cities of Lucknow-Kanpur on one hand and Nagpur-Hyderabad-Bangalore on the other. Most of the NER trains, like this one, are very slow. The duration of stopage at the Pratapgarh must be 10 minute instead of 3 minute. What is the train Number from Bangalore to Lucknow for this train and what are the days for departure from bangalore. @first blogger: The train 6504 seems to have been suspended and new train 6504A - Lucknow - Yeshwantpur special is running on Sunday only. There is no corresponding train for return from Yesvantpur to Lucknow. @Kapadia : Feb 08 (01:04PM) Kapadia Ji On inaugural day this train started with special no 6504A but the regular no is 6504 which is officially not update at the railway's official website. The 6504 A no was only for yesterday.
