The General Travelling Crowd/Railfanning Tip:
In this train , for General coaches the crowd is very good in amount for boarding at VSKP. But still once you have boarded , everybody gets a seat (seat doesn't means ony lower sitting seat;the upper portion is also used a seat). Take your seat and go for a good sleep. It will be badly needed next whole day.
The crowd keeps on building up as it passes RJY , TNKU , BVRT , AKVD. But all of a sudden at BZA, the whole General bogie...

gets emptied out.
From BZA to PUNE , Full empty General Coaches. Take your window seat and and enjoy the full day time journey. From Pune , then again it gets fair amount of "Inter city travelling people" for Mumbai on weekends.
PS: You will get window seat at BZA , only if you have boarded from VSKP. If you board from BZA, then you will get a seat but not a window seat. LOL
And Don't forget to keep a Power Pack for your Mobile phone as there is NO charging Socket for General coaches.
For Best Results, Do a railfanning trip from VSKP to PUNE in the month of June-July. Rains will give serious views to catch.

3. without any train reserved from mumbai to pune,
4. and you want to save about 2hr,

you can alight here at nasik road at which majority trains halts. Then just get outside the railway station,walk a bit 20-30 metres,you will reach ST bus stand. From here buses to pune except shivneri and sheetal buses,come and halts for 5 min. Even the 'hirakani' semi-sleeper buses if don't get filled up from main bus stand,then they come here to fill there vacant seats. The main nasik ST bus stand is about 8 km away from railway station. If you want to travel in a.c shivneri or semi-sleeper then spent some 80-100 bucks and reach there by auto. Before taking auto,bargin properly because unlike pune,here there is no strict prepaid rules.
But beware of saturday and sunday evening time,because its the rush hours and weekly home going time of the working peoples. So the rush will be very huge.

Foot Over Bridge Tip: There are 3 FOBs.
1. FOB on Daund end connects platform 1,2,3. Its less crowdy. Prefer this FOB if useful.
2. FOB on Mumbai End connects platforms 1,2,3,4,5,6. Its less crowdy. Prefer this FOB. If one comes down on PF1 from this FOB... take left turn .... to quickly exit from station & to reach auto stand, Pune's local bus stand, Sate Transport bus stand. One can exit station towards south (PF1) but cannot exit station towards north (PF6) from this FOB.

Central FOB: This connects all 6 platforms as well as the backside (towards north) of station. Too much rush during day time and extremely crowdy during peak hours (morning/evening). If one comes down from this FOB to exit from station he'll find rush to reach bus stand. Try to avoid this FOB if possible.

Escalator: Only 1 escalator outside PF1 to reach central FOB. But no guarantee for its working.
