Fire and smoke detection system mein sensors hain jo smoke detect karte hain aur brakes activate kar dete hain, jisse train ruk jaati hai. System fires rokne ke liye design kiya gaya hai, par yeh pantry cars mein excess carbon hone par bhi alarms trigger karta hai. Is problem ko solve karne ke liye, North Eastern Railway ne 297 passenger coaches, 30 pantry cars, aur 53 power cars mein fire and smoke detection systems install kiye hain. System mein water tanks aur nitrogen tanks hain jisse fires suppress kiye jaate hain.
