In 2023, Indian Railways completed 245 kilometers of new rail line, doubling, and tripling projects in the P.M. Railway zone. new line (276.5 km) with 42 km completed, the Katni-Singrauli doubling project with 86.6 km completed, the Kota-Bina doubling project with 31.35 km completed, and the Bina-Katni tripling project with 73.5 km completed. The Bhopal-Itarsi tripling project also saw 26.5 km completed. These projects will improve train speed, capacity, efficiency, safety, and freight operations, benefiting industrial areas in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
