I guess it will run on Diesel traction. But it has less stoppages and it could have a stop at Bhimavaram too. @Abhishek Chanda BBS: Mar 18 (04:34PM) i still believe some obvious stops are missing like dadar, kalyan, lonavala etc @anon: Mar 18 (04:55PM) There is no chance of stop at Dadar as this train starts from LTT and Dadar does not fall in the route. A stop at Kalyan is obvious for many trains but maybe this train has not been given one. Deccan Queen has no stop at Kalyan. Lonavala stop is not an obvious one as some trains like Hussainsagar Exp also dont have stop at Lonavala. @Manish: Mar 18 (05:23PM) Karjat ,Lonavala are technical halts so trains do halt here though it is only even for a few minutes. iam travelling on this route for the last 30 years and funnily it halts at khandala as well though it is not a technical halt. @Misenkiser: Mar 18 (07:26PM) Khandala is a technical halt. I wanted to indicate that the train also halts at halt between Khandala and Karjat, about 4 kms from Khandala (Mky-Hill), but I am not allowed to use that word. @MST IndianRailways: Mar 19 (08:35AM) Brake checking is needed more when you travel downhill till Karjat. When travelling towards lonavala which is not appreciable altitude than khandala why is it needed? @first blogger: LTT-SC POWERED by Disel SC-BZA powered by electric engine. BZA-VSKP disel engine. @anon: Mar 19 (10:47AM) This train needs a reversal at BZA only. Maybe they could run it entirely with a Diesel from Kazipet shed. Even the transition for Konark from Electric/Diesel to Diesel/Electric takes place at Kazipet and not at SC. hence it may entirely run on Diesel @first blogger: BZA, SC and WADI has maximum stoppage time. So transition doesn't take place at Kazipet @first blogger: The only disappointing thing is it's composition. They could have included 12 SL and 4 AC Coaches, since demand is high on this sector. There was a notification once by Central Railways to make the Konark Express a 24 coacher, by adding some reserved coaches. But, that was not done. Konark is still a 21 coacher. I hope the capacity of these trains(LTT - VSKP, Konark) are increased in near future. @anon: Mar 19 (10:47AM) LTT-pune electric line...it obvious @anon: Mar 19 (11:08AM) LTT - PUNE is electric, but most trains which approach LTT/CSTM from Wadi side run on Diesels till LTT/CSTM. One can find numerous examples. 7031/7032, 2701/2702, Konark, Udyan express, Chennai mail, etc etc, Only electric bankers are attached in LNL - Karjat sections @Abhishek Chanda BBS: Mar 19 (11:05AM) that line ha many problem for 24-25 compartment as it is full diesel line oreover pune karjat section also. but LTT-VSKP has only 18 as per now it can be increased to 10SL, 3 3AC, 1 2AC, 6 SLR cum guard coache...hope they will update soon, becaue thee railway authoritie neglect visakhapatnam division but if train starts...the demand will be clearly visible.hoping for increase in frequency also. @Abhishek Chanda BBS: Mar 19 (11:05AM) CSTM used to operate trains with 18 coaches, consequent to expansion of MST of some platforms in 2008 it could accomodate 22 coaches.Konark which is srarts from CSTM at present has 21 and one extra AC or sleeper is added as and when demand arises. Let us see if 2749 gets a good response then in future it should run with 22/24 coaches as it operates from LTT. @first blogger: Though LTT-Pune section is electrified the stoppage time is only 5 min and it may not be possible to change power from E to D. @first blogger: The journey time will reduce by another 1 to 2 hrs if it is routed via GNT-Nadikudi and Bibinagar. Reversal of engine at BZA is not required if it goes via GNT. मार्च 18 (05:27PM) विशाखापट्नम मुंबई सुपरफ़ास्ट एक्स्प्रेस/2749वापस ऊपर क्रमांक# 24752 जवाब बुकमार्क करो इसको हटाओ WTH is this..pune is a metro..while solapur is quite smaller than pune..still this train has a stop of 10mins in solapur and a stop of(only) 5 mins in pune...this is a shame....a big city like pune is treated like this...is this justified @first blogger: Almost all trains have a 10min stop at Solapur and 5 mins stop at Pune. Maybe the railways have some reason for having a longer stop at Solapur. @Manish: Mar 18 (05:47PM) what reason...engine changes from disesel to electric and vice versa...at pune..so train possible stops more than 20 mins at pune jn....then y its officially given only 5 mins.....atleast 10mins was fair!!! @anon: Mar 18 (05:52PM) May be it does not change for this train..probably it continues with diesel upto mumbai..like the chennai bound trains which are diesel till the end. @KRISHNA: Mar 18 (05:59PM) watever mayb...udyan also and end to end disel train..even it stops for not less than 20mins at pune jn....i crew and staff changes at pune for all trains.. @anon: Mar 18 (06:01PM) There is no locomotive change till its final destination(mostly a WDM3A series). Only the crew will change after every 8-10 hours or so. Solapur is the major station where food will be loaded into this train in case there is no pantry car attached Also water willl be filled in the overhead tanks at Solapur. You will find men in green uniform waiting to clean toilets at Solapur. All these activities need time Hence Solapur is normally given more halt time as compared to Pune which is only 3.5 hours journey from LTT/CST in either direction @Misenkiser: Mar 18 (07:18PM) One of my concerns with this train is that even though it has very few halts between SC and LTT the run time is just 25 mins less than Hussainsagar which has more than 14 halts. It can haul a train like udyan which has around 23-24 coaches easily till it's final destination ie. In 3AC, note that side berths too now have side curtains! They are being progressively being provided! In return Direction again there is a Locomotive change at Baroda itself . Is this train have a pantry? Whats the arrangement for the food? @first blogger: This train does not have a pantry car. @Moderator As all Durontos are Non-stop trains having only few technical halts. is it possible to show these technical halts with their approximate timings for more convenience to the travelling people? It halts just outside Varanasi Station for more than half an hour for platform clearance and once again at Mughalsarai for the same reason. As expected the coaches were dirty and most of the toilets did not the flush lever at all !! The only redeeming factor was that the train reached LTT half an hour earlier though it was running an hour late mid way. Greetings. Could you please let me know if train # 2749/2750..Vishakapatnam to LTT is scheduled to commence this week and if this train has a halt at Tadepalligudem. Thanks. Dev. @first blogger: As per a report published in a newspaper this train will tentatively commence on 3/3/10 and will have the following halts between LTT and VSKP Pune, Solapur, Wadi, Vikarabad, Secunderabad, Kazipet, Vijaywada, Gudivada, Akividu, and Rajahmundry stations.
