If you don't have a dearth of time you should definitely travel by this train, it runs almost empty and you'll get to witness how a person onboard the train closes and opens the gate at every unmanned crossing.

The bus station is close to 1.5 to 2 km from Brahma Temple and you'll get buses to Ajmer every 15 mins, the ticket costs Rs 14 and the journey time is 30 minutes. The bus will travels through various parts of the city including near Ajmer Sharif Dargah and finally reaches Ajmer bus stand. From here you'll get buses to a lot of Major cities in the vicinity and shared autos to within the city and railway station.

If you're a day traveller with minimal luggage rather than getting down here, get down at the railway crossing on the main road just before the station. The camel fairground is just a 5-minute walk from the crossing and the Brahma Temple is 15 mins.You'll see that most of the people get down at the same place, as it is closest to the town.
Don't approach the Vehicle owners as they'll charge exorbitantly and claim that it is far. Ask local people for directions or rely on google maps which is pretty accurate.

The station does not a full-fledged Railway Canteen so the only things you'll get is some Kachori, biscuits and other dry stuff. It is just enough to pass-by but does not satiate your hunger, also there exist no food stalls in the vicinity so do carry some substantially heavy pre-packed food.

For the best views of Railfanning sit on the left(Platform) Side of the train and facing opposite to the Loco when it departs Marwar. Since the Train has a Loco reversal from Phulad onwards and the ghat looks spectacular from the right side, you'll surely enjoy the view. Also, try looking for an emergency exit to get best shots and if possible carry food as you wouldn't find much and a cardboard as the seat benches are hard and eventually your bum will start aching :D
