Concerns raised by farmers to find alternative routes will bypass current Belagavi station, running parallel with NH-48 and joins at Sambra station making it as Junction point.

That is the tussle now. Farmers are telling current proposed line soon after Kittur and Hirebagewadi traverses through KK Koppa till Desur is highly fertile and not ready to give up. Instead suggested to take the line parallel to NH-48 and join it to Belagavi outer, making 'Y' join. BGM terminating train will still come to City station, where as long distance trains may need to use Belagavi(Sambra) Junction to avoid loco reversal.
Kanabaragi, Sulebhavi, Sambra are the areas developed with near by Airport proximity.

Yes, around 1 sqkm nothing. After that new outskirt areas are developed like Kanabaragi, Sambra, Marihal and Sulebhavi villages.
