Even Puri Shatabdi is a flop one. Only after flexi has been removed from it, it has started receiving some patronage. If u r talking only about hit Shatabdi from Kolkata, then only NJP and RNC shatabdi now receives proper patronage almost throughout the year (RNC shatabdi being the one with highest occupancy). May be a premium train can be tried for Patna or Varanasi via Gaya, else I am not seeing any demand for a premium train from any of the other cities located within 300-400km of Kolkata

Slot of NJP shatabdi is quite fine. It's dedicated for the passengers of Siliguri and Jalpaiguri and not for the Darjeeling bound passengers. Only thing that can be done with NJP shatabdi is to speed it up and make it arrive NJP by 21.40 and depart it in the morning at 6.15. That will be more than enough
